The Ascheri Barolo DOCG 2019 Rosso is a dry red wine, crafted exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, sourced from the celebrated Barolo region within Piedmont, Italy. This wine adheres to the prestigious DOCG standards, underscoring its quality and the winemaking prowess of Ascheri, a winery renowned for its tradition and innovation in expressing the unique characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape. The 2019 Rosso is distinguished by its meticulous vinification and aging process, aimed at producing a Barolo that beautifully balances power, elegance, and the potential for aging, capturing the essence of its terroir.

Producer

After the move, Matteo Cavaleri's house became La Morra in Bra in 1880, where it is still today. Classically producing "Piedmontese" reds, their lists also included Gavi, Brachetto and Vermouth along with "Barolino Chinato" and "Gran Vino Barolo". In 1994, some of the old cellars were cleverly used by the Ascheri family, who opened l'Osteria Muri vecchi, an ideal meeting place where you can truly enjoy traditional cuisine and local wines and turn them into cultural, social and fun experiences. Today, the winery is run by the current president of the Barolo appellation, Matteo Ascheri.

Barolo wines are the best Nebbiolo can offer - they are luxurious and sophisticated. At young age these wines show uncontrollable temper with sharp and high tannins and almost searing acidity, though already noticeable aromas of violets, red currant and licorice. With age the wine bouquet acquires the wealth and fullness deprived in its youth as the taste becomes more rounded, adding peppery tones and shades of red berries, but the aromas are replaced by flavors of tobacco, leather and tar. Barolo wines are worth saving for important occasions - they are excellent even after 20 years of aging.
