De Montal armagnac Oslo Napoleon 0,7L

SKU: FRGAPDGSPAR112700NV Category:
Armagnac AOC | Armagnac | N.V. | 0,7 L | 40 % | De Montal
About
De Montal Oslo Napoleon is a distinguished Armagnac that strikes a harmonious balance between richness and elegance, known for its semi-sweet profile that appeals to a wide range of palates. Crafted from a blend of grape varieties traditional to the Armagnac region of Gascony, France, this spirit is distilled and aged with meticulous care, resulting in a depth of flavor that is both complex and captivating. The De Montal Oslo Napoleon embodies the heritage and craftsmanship of its region, offering a unique and luxurious experience that showcases the best of French distillation techniques.
Producer
DeMontal have probably the most modern distillery in the region and their methods of both viticulture and viniculture are hugely sophisticated. DeMontal makes great armagnac but also many wines from their 700 hectare estate. The advantages are that their quality is always exceptionally high and individuality between vintages is much harder to identify. The distillery is state of the art and it is claimed that the grapes spend less than 10 minutes between vineyard and press to minimize SO2 content. The pressings are in stainless steel pneumatic drums and the distillation is on very light lees. The method of vinification is altogether natural, the addition of anything artificial being forbidden. The wine is distilled right after harvest time so as to preserve a maximum amount of aromas. Stability of DeMontal quality is quite unique!
Tasting notes

Tasting notes for De Montal Oslo Napoleon reveal a symphony of aromas, including ripe plum, vanilla, and hints of toasted oak, leading to a palate that is rich with flavors of dried fruit, caramel, and a whisper of spice. The finish is long and warming, with a delightful balance of sweetness and wood-infused complexity that lingers on the palate.

Pairing

When pairing with food, De Montal Oslo Napoleon Armagnac shines alongside rich desserts like chocolate ganache or crème brûlée, its semi-sweet profile complementing the sweetness of the dishes. It also pairs beautifully with a robust cheese platter, offering a delightful contrast to the savory flavors of aged cheeses.
