Avignonesi "50&50" Toscana IGT is a prestigious, dry red wine, born from a unique collaboration between Avignonesi and Capannelle, symbolizing the unity of two renowned wineries. This iconic blend consists of equal parts Merlot and Sangiovese, combining the best of both varietals from the Tuscany region of Italy to create a harmonious and complex wine. "50&50" showcases the innovative spirit of Avignonesi, embodying a commitment to quality and excellence in Tuscan winemaking, and is celebrated for its balance, depth, and the seamless integration of two distinct grape characters.

Winery named after the first owners - the Avignonesi family. Since its foundation, it has experienced an exciting journey. Virginia Saverisa acquired the Avignonesi distillery in 2009. Avignonesi has become a leader in biodynamic viticulture in Italy. Since its acquisition, and thanks to Virginia's respect for the ecosystem, its employees and end consumers, the winery has begun to produce and make organic wines that are truly authentic in their origins.
Tasting notes
The wine unfolds with an opulent bouquet of dark berries, cherries, and plums, enriched by velvety notes of chocolate, spice, and a hint of tobacco, leading to a full-bodied palate that is both rich and elegant. Avignonesi

Since its acquisition, and thanks to Virginia's respect for the ecosystem, its employees and end consumers, the winery has begun to produce and make organic wines that are truly authentic in their origins.
Merlot can produce red wines from medium to full-bodied, with rich but smooth and rounded tannins. Young merlot wine is dominated by aromas of blackberry, raspberry, violet and wild plum, but with aging it can develop aromas of figs, chocolate, leather and truffle.
Toscana
The hilly terrain and warm climate make Tuscany an ideal region for winemaking. It ranks third by the amount DOC and DOCG category wines after Piemonte and Veneto. Currently the most popular variety is the noble Sangiovese - it is extremely thermophilic and successfully reveals its best traits in warm climates. Wines have a lovely structure, velvety tannins and a fruity aroma, the color is rich ruby red, but the most distinguishable flavor notes are cherries, raspberries and spices.
