SKU: DENONALC0001 Category: Tag:
Germany | St.Antony Weingut
About
St. Antony Grauburgunder is a refined dry white wine, crafted from the Grauburgunder grape, known internationally as Pinot Gris, cultivated in the renowned wine-growing region of Rheinhessen, Germany. This wine is a testament to St. Antony's commitment to producing expressive, terroir-driven wines that encapsulate the unique characteristics of the region and the varietal. The Grauburgunder from St. Antony is celebrated for its meticulous vinification process, which results in a wine that balances the varietal's natural richness with a refreshing acidity, showcasing the potential of Rheinhessen's terroir.
Producer
The St. Antony winery has officially existed since 1920, the first vintage produced was the 1918. The name St. Antony, which the winery received in the 1980s, goes back to the St. Antony ironworks, the first ironworks in the Ruhr area. The winery was founded by the "Guten Hoffnungshütte" in Nierstein. Since 1990, St. Antony has been a member of the Association of Prädikat Wine Estates, and since 2006, they have been working here in a certified organic manner. Since 2018, St. Antony has been Demeter-certified.
Ingridients, Nutritional information

The St. Antony Grauburgunder offers a vibrant bouquet of ripe pear, melon, and a hint of almond, leading to a palate that is both full-bodied and crisp, with flavors of white peach, citrus, and a subtle minerality. This wine’s elegant texture and depth of flavor are complemented by a clean, lingering finish, making it a versatile and sophisticated expression of the Pinot Gris grape. Its balance of fruit, acidity, and texture exemplifies the quality and character that St. Antony aims to achieve in their wines.

Pairing

Pairing the St. Antony Grauburgunder with dishes such as pan-seared trout, creamy pasta, or a hearty chicken salad can enhance the wine’s fruit nuances and complement its richness. It also pairs beautifully with mild cheeses, where the wine’s acidity and fruitiness cut through the creaminess of the cheese, creating a harmonious balance. These food pairings not only highlight the wine’s versatility but also its ability to elevate a wide range of culinary experiences, making it a delightful choice for various dining occasions.
