The Ascheri "Pisapola" Barolo DOCG 2019 is a dry red wine, crafted with meticulous care from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, harvested from the prestigious Barolo region in Piedmont, Italy. Renowned for its adherence to the highest quality standards of the DOCG certification, this Barolo reflects Ascheri's commitment to expressing the unique characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape and the specific terroir of the "Pisapola" vineyard. This vintage is a testament to the winery's philosophy of minimal intervention, aiming to produce a wine that is both a pure expression of its origin and a sophisticated embodiment of the varietal's complexity.

Producer

After the move, Matteo Cavaleri's house became La Morra in Bra in 1880, where it is still today. Classically producing "Piedmontese" reds, their lists also included Gavi, Brachetto and Vermouth along with "Barolino Chinato" and "Gran Vino Barolo". In 1994, some of the old cellars were cleverly used by the Ascheri family, who opened l'Osteria Muri vecchi, an ideal meeting place where you can truly enjoy traditional cuisine and local wines and turn them into cultural, social and fun experiences. Today, the winery is run by the current president of the Barolo appellation, Matteo Ascheri.

Barolo wines are the best Nebbiolo can offer - they are luxurious and sophisticated. At young age these wines show uncontrollable temper with sharp and high tannins and almost searing acidity, though already noticeable aromas of violets, red currant and licorice. With age the wine bouquet acquires the wealth and fullness deprived in its youth as the taste becomes more rounded, adding peppery tones and shades of red berries, but the aromas are replaced by flavors of tobacco, leather and tar. Barolo wines are worth saving for important occasions - they are excellent even after 20 years of aging.
